Official Letter No. 414/QLD-KD dated 07/02/2025 of the Drug Administration of Vietnam on ensuring the supply of drugs for influenza treatment is as follows:
In recent times, the situation of influenza has been complicated in many localities in the North, the demand for influenza drugs, especially antiviral drugs, tends to increase. In order to ensure the adequate supply of drugs for influenza prevention and treatment, the Drug Administration of Vietnam proposes units to implement the following contents:
1. Continue to implement the contents of ensuring the supply of drugs for diseases that may occur in winter and spring in Official Letter No. 3847/QLD-KD dated 02/12/2024 of the Drug Administration of Vietnam.
2. Departments of Health of provinces and centrally-run cities shall continue to direct medical establishments in their localities to closely monitor the epidemic situation and demand for influenza drugs. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the supply and use of drugs, ensure that drugs are reasonably distributed, avoid speculation and unreasonable price increases.
3. Hospitals attached to the Ministry shall take the initiative in making plans on stockpiling and procuring influenza drugs, especially antiviral drugs, ensuring the availability and timely supply of influenza drugs. Use drugs reasonably, avoid overusing antiviral drugs to limit the risk of drug resistance.
4. Drug manufacturers and importers shall increase their supply, formulate and implement drug supply plans to meet the demand for influenza treatment, and expeditiously supply enough drugs upon receipt of orders from medical examination and treatment establishments.
