On February 27, 2026, The National Intersectoral Steering Committee on Food Safety promulgated the 2026 Plan on the implementation of post-market surveillance for food safety.
Post-market surveillance will be strengthened nationwide, with a focus on reinforcing post-notification oversight, enhancing corporate accountability, and imposing strict enforcement measures against violations, thereby safeguarding public health and fostering a transparent and sustainable food market.
📌 Key areas of focus include:
- Review of product self-declaration dossiers and product registration dossiers
- Inspection of manufacturing and business conditions
- Sampling and laboratory analysis to verify compliance with quality and safety standards
- Increased unannounced inspections where signs of non-compliance are identified
The Plan also underscores stricter oversight of food advertising and e-commerce activities.
Dietary supplements (health supplements) will remain a priority category for enhanced supervision, particularly with respect to:
- Compliance with manufacturing requirements, especially facilities certified in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards
- Monitoring advertising content to prevent misleading claims or representations that may imply medicinal effects
- Intensified sampling and testing of high-risk product categories, including weight management, sexual health, cardiovascular support, joint health, and blood glucose support products
- Strict enforcement against adulteration with prohibited substances and non-compliance with registered product specifications
💡 Businesses are strongly encouraged to proactively review their legal documentation and product registration dossiers, ensure that product quality is consistent with approved specifications, and maintain full compliance with applicable food safety regulations.
