FOOD PROCEDURES

Manufacturers and food businesses are required to carry out self-declaration procedures for processed and packaged foods (cakes, candies, etc.), food additives (preservatives, flavorings, enhancers), food processing aids, food containers (plastic and glass containers), and materials directly in contact with food (nylon packaging, etc.). After self-declaration, the organization or individual has the right to produce and circulate the product in the market. Simultaneously, the entity itself is responsible for the quality and safety of the product for consumers.

Product Self-declaration dossier

a) Product self-declaration document;

b) Test results for the product (valid for 12 months);

c) Product label sample;

d) Business registration (with appropriate industry code);

e) Other documents (product standard specification, notarized translated label, raw material dossier, etc.).

Note:

All documents in the self-declaration dossier must be in the Vietnamese language (if there are foreign-language documents, they must be translated into Vietnamese and notarized).

Product Self-declaration Procedure

– The authorized state management agency publicly announces the results of accepting the self-declaration dossier on its website.

Modification and supplementation of the dossier after self-declaration

– New self-declaration: Change in product name, origin, or composition;

– Submit a Modification and Supplement dossier: For other changes (the dossier includes an explanatory letter on the modification and supplementary dossier and related documents)
