Decree No. 148/2025/NĐ-CP of the Government on Decentralization and Delegation of Authority in the Health Sector

On June 12, 2025, the Government issued Decree No. 148/2025/NĐ-CP, stipulating the delegation and decentralization of authority to local governments in the health sector under the management scope of the Ministry of Health. The Decree will take effect on July 1, 2025.

Accordingly, several administrative procedures in the health sector will be delegated to provincial-level People’s Committees, enabling local authorities to take greater initiative in managing medical examination and treatment, medical equipment, food safety, and disease prevention. This decentralization aims to ensure proactivity, consistency, and efficiency in state management of the health sector.
